     General Notes:
The publication, The Centennial Atlas of Athens County, Ohio 1905 Edi tion provides information on George Clark's family and his career.  I n 1905 Mr. Clark and his wife, Lydia A. Beasley Clark, had lived in A mes township, Athens Co.OH over 50 years.  They farmed until 1890 whe n they moved into Amesville and operated a restaurant and grocery.  M r. Clark was Assessor of Ames township for eight consecutive years, m ember of the village council, of which he was president and acting ma yor during the administration of Alonzo Weed.  Mr. and Mrs. Clark wer e the parents of 8 children, three of whom died in infancy of diphthe ria.  In 1905 the surviving children were:  William E. Clark, Thoma s E. Clark, Lizzie Wilcox, Charles and Anna Smith. 
 
 
     Marriage Information:
George married Lydia A. BEASLEY in 1868 in Ames Township, Athens Co., Ohio.  (Lydia A. BEASLEY died after 1905.)
