General Notes:
For several years, John was a clothier in Washington Co., Pennsylvania. In 1828, he united with the Presbyterian Church of Cross Creek, PA, and shortly afterward entered Washington College. Later he pursued a regular theological course in the Western Seminary at Allegheny City. He was licensed by the Presbytery of Washington in 1839. He was pastor for churches at Perry and Gilgal in Indiana Co., PA. He was widowed and later in life, married again. He had no children. 23
